Outer Banks Health has announced Ginger Oxnard, BSN, RN, as the recipient of the 2024 Horizon Award for Team Member of the Year. Oxnard joined the Outer Banks Health Emergency Department in January 2022 and is recognized for her advocacy and ability to anticipate and address patient needs proactively.
A team member described Oxnard as "the breath of fresh air you want to work with every shift," noting her knowledge, peacefulness, attention to detail, compassion, and eagerness to learn. She prioritizes updating herself on protocols and is working towards completing her BSN while becoming a preceptor in the emergency department.
The Operations team selects the yearly award recipient from among Team Member of the Month winners based on values, years of service, and dedication to Outer Banks Health. The awards are supported by the Team Member Experience Committee.
