Amy Montgomery Senior Administrator Of Operations | Outer Banks Hospital
Outer Banks Health has announced Sarah Summerton, FNP, as the recipient of the 2024 Horizon Award for Advanced Practice Provider of the Year. Summerton works at Outer Banks Health Family Medicine in Kitty Hawk and is recognized for her compassion, integrity, and accountability. She is known for taking time to listen to patients, providing thorough explanations, and being prompt with follow-ups.
Summerton is also pursuing doctorate-level education while practicing full-time. Her dedication to staying current with medical knowledge and applying best practices in patient care is noted by colleagues.
"This award recognizes the outstanding efforts and dedication of our providers who achieve our mission of enhancing the quality of life for the residents and visitors of Dare County," stated Outer Banks Health.
The selection process considered team member and patient experience, quality initiatives, leadership and mentoring abilities, as well as community involvement. This year saw over 42 nominations for the award.
