The Dare Soil & Water Conservation District has announced that it is now accepting applications for the Community Conservation Assistance Program (CCAP).

The CCAP is a voluntary, incentive-based program designed to improve water quality through the installation of various best management practices (BMPs) on urban, suburban and rural lands that are not directly involved with agricultural production.

BMPS INCLUDE OPTIONS SUCH AS:

  • Marsh Sills
  • Shoreline Protection
  • Riparian Buffers
  • Cisterns
  • Rain Gardens
  • Bioretention Areas
  • Stormwater Wetlands
  • Permeable Pavement
  • Critical Area Plantings
Applications will be accepted until October 31, 2022, and are ranked based on local water quality priorities. If selected, landowners may receive a reimbursement up to 75 percent of the actual cost of the BMP, based on the state’s annual cost list.
