COUNTY OF DARE: Virtual State of the County 2022 - January 19, 2022

County of Dare issued the following announcement on Jan. 12.

Dare County Board of Commissioners Chairman Robert L. “Bob” Woodard Sr. will deliver the annual State of the County presentation at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 19, 2022. The event will be held virtually and livestreamed on Dare County’s YouTube channel, www.YouTube.com/DareCounty.

During his presentation, Woodard will provide a detailed look back at the wide array of accomplishments that were achieved and the variety of projects that were completed in Dare County throughout 2021 despite the ongoing challenges of the pandemic.

In addition to showcasing several past projects, Woodard will also share status updates on the numerous projects that are currently underway or on the horizon, including College of The Albemarle’s new academic building in Manteo, the soon-to-arrive “Miss Katie” shallow-draft hopper dredge, plans to update and modernize the county's EMS facilities, and the upcoming beach nourishment projects that are scheduled to begin in the spring, among many others. 

The event will also include an overview of the assortment of essential services that staff members within Dare County’s various departments continued to provide to residents and vacationers alike during another record-breaking year of visitation on the Outer Banks.  

Viewers who have questions for Woodard to address will have the opportunity to submit them via email during the event for a Q&A session that will conclude the presentation.
