Town of Morehead City issued the following announcement on Dec. 2.
Join Morehead City Parks and Recreation Department for the lighting of the Christmas tree in downtown Morehead City. FUMC Rise Band will be playing tunes, Reed's Coffee and Framing will be selling hot cocoa, coffee and cider and we will be having an Ugly Christmas Sweater Contest as we marvel at the giant tree. City Manager Ryan Eggleston and Mayor Jerry Jones will lead in the tree lighting ceremony. This is a free event. Dec. 3.
