COUNTY OF CARTERET: Notice Of Public Hearing With The Carteret County Board Of Commissioners

County of Carteret issued the following announcement on Dec. 2. 

Notice is hereby given that the Carteret County Board of Commissioners will conduct a public hearing on December 20, 2021 at 6:00 PM to review the update to the Carteret County Coastal Area Management Act (CAMA) Land Use Plan. The meeting will be held in the Board of Commissioners’ Meeting Room (302 Courthouse Square, Administration Building, Beaufort, NC). All interested citizens are encouraged to attend.

Following the public hearing, the Carteret County Board of Commissioners will consider adoption of the Land Use Plan. Once adopted, the plan will be submitted to the Director of the North Carolina Division of Coastal Management for certification.

Written objections, comments, or statements of support shall be submitted to the Division of Coastal Management’s District Planner, (Rachel Love-Adrick, 400 Commerce Avenue, Morehead City, NC 28557) no more than 30 calendar days after local adoption of the amendment. Further information can be obtained by contacting the District Planner at 252-808-2808.

Copies of the Land Use Plan amendment are available for review by the public at the Carteret County Courthouse (302 Courthouse Square, Beaufort, NC 28516) and the Carteret County Planning and Development Department (402 Broad Street, Beaufort, NC 28516) during normal office hours. The public is encouraged to review the Land Use Plan and to attend the public hearing.
