COUNTY OF DARE: Coastal Flood Advisory in Effect Until 12 a.m. on Saturday

County of Dare issued the following announcement on Oct. 29. 

As of 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 29, the Dare County Sheriff's Office reports soundside flooding along NC 12 on Hatteras Island. Just south of the Richard Etheridge Bridge, the water is approximately two inches deep in the southbound lane. There is also standing water in the area of Camp Hatteras and in the area of Otter Way in Salvo there are depths of up to approximately five inches. Other areas have slight amounts of ponding water. High tide is Saturday at 2:16 a.m. Motorists are advised to proceed with caution.
