On Tuesday, April 8, former West Carteret High School standout Hannah Moseley’s current college team, the Chowan Hawks, lost 9-5 in their NCAA Division II softball game against the Francis Marion Patriots.
The game took place at FMU Softball Stadium. This was their fourth matchup against the Patriots this season.
The Hawks’ next game is scheduled for Saturday, April 12 at 2 p.m. at Purnell Swett High School against UNC Pembroke Braves.
Carteret County has scheduled a public hearing on its proposed fiscal year 2026–2027 budget. Residents can review copies starting May 11 and attend a hearing on May 18 to share their views.
