Town of Pine Knoll Shores issued the following announcement on Jan. 30.

Ladies and Gents,

Pls see below for a message from NWS regarding the front moving through our area this afternoon and evening.

This is a primary travel period for all of us, so be advised and be careful.

It looks like the heaviest winds will be further down east from PKS.

Nonetheless this is a good time to think about securing the boat, prepping the yard, and generally being ready for keeping things from become flying objects.

As always in our area, be prepared for a power outage.

Charge everything in your home today and be ready for the possibility of the lights going out.
