Census Bureau: 82.5% of people in Carteret County were old enough to vote in 2021

Of the 67,944 citizens living in Carteret County in 2021, 82.5% were old enough to vote, equating to 56,055 individuals, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained on Oct. 26.

Further breakdown reveals that of the voting-eligible population, 27,256 were male, constituting 48.6%, and 28,799 were female, making up 51.4%.

The percentage of citizens old enough to vote in Carteret County during 2021 was higher than the state average, which stands at 77.8%.
