County of Carteret issued the following announcement on Dec. 23.

It is with great pleasure that we recognize Tammy Patterson as the December 2022 Carteret County Employee of the Month.

Tammy began her career in the Women, Infants, and Children’s (WIC) division at the Carteret County Health Department in 2002 and currently serves as an office assistant. Her primary responsibility is to provide a variety of support functions to assure smooth and efficient delivery of services to clients. Duties include client intake, explanation of the program, determination of income eligibility, and making appointments.

Tammy is recognized by her peers as the “epitome of teamwork and dedication” with her willingness to always help where there is a need. In addition to her daily duties, she has taken on the responsibility of promoting a state outreach project to serve clients with extra needs such as foster children and families. Her skill set along with daily work habits and attitude make her a valuable asset to the county. Her diligence and self-motivation have been a source of inspiration for the rest of the team. Thank you Tammy for your loyalty and for being one of Carteret County’s best!
