Town of Pine Knoll Shores issued the following announcement on Dec. 20.
In January and February our Electric Cooperative will again trim vegetation around powerlines on the south side of Highway 58.
This trimming is important from a resiliency standpoint as the maintenance of power during/after storms is a public safety issue.
We will again have members of the Community Appearance Commission work with the trimming outfit to ensure that the work is within reason and does not cause undue hardship on anyone.
Below is a photo of the work done in May of 2017, which shows the manner in which the trimming was done only around the lines and not indiscriminately.
