Town of Pine Knoll Shores issued the following announcement on Oct. 17.
If you hire contractors for yard/maintenance work at your homes, pls tell them to park on the right-of-way and not on the street itself.
Last month we had a contractor park his truck and trailer entirely on the paved street while he worked on the adjacent yard.
This was done at the rise to McNeil Bridge. It created a dangerous situation where a passing car was forced to use the other lane, while vehicles coming from the opposite direction were blinded from this by the elevation on the bridge.
With enough speed and a little distraction we could have had a head-on collision.
