TOWN OF CEDAR POINT: Planning Board Meeting Tuesday, October 5, 2022, 6:30 PM at Town Hall

Town of Cedar Point issued the following announcement on Sept. 26.

The Town of Cedar Point Planning Board held their regularly scheduled monthly meeting on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at 6:30 PM. Vice Chairman Williams determined a quorum to be present and opened the meeting. PRESENT: Vice Chairman Williams, Members Castellano, Pittner and Smith, Town Manager Rief and Town Clerk Calhoun ABSENT: Chairman Riggs, Member Marello The Minutes from the August 2, 2022 meeting were presented for Board consideration and approval. 

Member Pittner made a Motion to approve the August 2, 2022 Minutes. Member Smith seconded. The Motion carried unanimously. Under New Business, discussion regarding reduction of requirements for Special Use Permits for certain uses. Mr. Rief pointed out that many of the items requiring Special Use Permits make the Town appear unfriendly to new businesses or that the process may be political. 

The Board discussed some of the uses they felt should not require a SUP, and will continue this discussion at future meetings. Mr. Rief provided a copy of the Table of Permitted Uses to better illustrate the instances when and where a SUP is required.

 There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned. Member Smith made a Motion to adjourn the meeting, Member Castellano seconded. The meeting was adjourned at 8: 00 PM
