County of Dare issued the following announcement on June 27.
Did you know that the use of ALL fireworks is illegal in Duck, Southern Shores, Nags Head, Manteo and on Hatteras Island?
Only “safe and sane” fireworks such as sparklers and fountains are legal for use in Kitty Hawk, Kill Devil Hills, Roanoke Island and on the Dare County mainland.
To ensure that your family experiences the best possible firework show, and to protect yourself, your family, pets and property this Fourth of July, leave the patriotic pyrotechnics to the professionals.
Enjoy one of the four local fireworks shows that are scheduled to take place in various locations throughout Dare County.
Town of Manteo Downtown Waterfront — 9:15 p.m.
Town of Kill Devil Hills Avalon Pier — 9:15 p.m.
Town of Nags Head, NC Nags Head Fishing Pier — 9:25 p.m.
Avon Fishing Pier NC — 9 p.m.
