COUNTY OF CARTERET: Pinwheel Garden to raise child abuse awareness in Carteret County

Childabuse

County of Carteret issued the following announcement on Apr. 4.

As part of National Child Abuse Prevention Month, Carteret County Department of Social Services, Carteret Children’s Advocacy Center, and Carteret County Guardian ad Litem Program will plant a pinwheel garden on the grounds of the Carteret County Courthouse in Beaufort on April 14.

A pinwheel is the symbol of child abuse prevention and reflects childhood hope, health, and happiness. Pinwheel gardens are planted in communities throughout the nation in April in recognition of National Child Abuse Prevention Month.

The pinwheel garden will be planted in Beaufort on Thursday, April 14, at 11 a.m., followed by a community walk at 11:15 a.m. Community members and businesses can show your support by planting a pinwheel at your home or place of business and send us your photos to share on our social media. Pictures can be sent to pio@carteretcountync.gov.
