Town of Beaufort issued the following announcement on Mar. 15.
A County-led dredging project of east Taylor’s Creek will soon begin, and the spoils will be pumped along south Taylor’s Creek to Radio Island. A dredge pipeline (pictured here) is being laid along the northern shore of the Rachel Carson Reserve, which will affect visitor access to the island. At a few locations along the shoreline, the pipe will be located far enough underwater for visitors to cross the pipe for access. The pipeline will affect visitor access until mid or late April.
