Town of Duck issued the following announcement on Jan. 6.
Fred Smith Company has completed demolition of the existing trail between Oyster Catcher Lane and last year’s improvements south of Blue Heron Lane. While work will not occur this week due to contractor OSHA training, we do expect work to resume next week with the removal of millings, undercutting, washed stone placement and concrete forms installation. This work should be completed by January 28, 2022 barring any weather or equipment delays. Once the concrete forms are in place, concrete placement will follow shortly thereafter. Fred Smith anticipates completion of the project in mid-February.
Until such time as this project has been completed, the Duck Trail between Oyster Catcher Lane and Blue Heron Lane will remain closed to pedestrian and bicycle traffic. We appreciate your patience as we work to improve the Duck Trail.
