COUNTY OF HYDE: Julio Morales with Mattamuskeet Schools’ Weekly Announcements

Announcement

County of Hyde issued the following announcement on Oct. 24.

Schools are closed to students tomorrow. Regular activities will resume on Tuesday. Students taking Beaufort County Community College classes through the Information Highway Room will still have their sessions tomorrow and need to make their own transportation arrangements to come to school at their designated class time and return back home. Upon arrival to campus, please report directly to the Information Highway room. If transportation to school is an issue, please email your professors to make them aware of this closure and request alternate assignments.

- Both schools are invited to celebrate Red Ribbon Week to promote a drug-free life. Other than the poster contest for students and door decorating contest for teachers, we will also have dress up days this week. On Tuesday, everyone should wear their favorite sports team. Wednesday is Wacky Tacky attire, Thursday is neon or tie dye with sunglasses and Friday is Halloween costume. On Friday, please abstain from wearing any props or costume masks, nothing too gory or scary and remember you still need to wear your face coverings at all times while indoors so keep that in mind if planning to wear face paint.

- Mattamuskeet Elementary School is hosting Parent Conference Night this Tuesday from 3 to 7 pm. Parents, please contact your child’s teacher to schedule yours if you have not done so yet. Looking forward to seeing you all here then.

- With the Teacher Workday tomorrow and Parent Conference Night at the Elementary School, the 21st Century Afterschool Program will not resume operation until Wednesday this week. We apologize for the inconvenience.
