Of the 2,923 citizens living in Nags Head in 2019, 2,428 were old enough to vote as of Jan. 26, according to U.S. Census Bureau data.

The bureau reported 1,328 of those people were female and 1,100 were male.

Data for this story was compiled from the bureau’s American Community Survey. Information from the survey helps to determine how federal and state funds are distributed.
