Carteret County issued the following announcement on June 1.
On June 1, 2020, Carteret County received an additional confirmed positive case for a total of 38 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the County. Of the 38 confirmed cases, 2 patients are active case, 33 of those patients have recovered and have satisfied the NC Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) isolation requirements, and 3 are deceased. Carteret County medical providers, including the Health Department, have collected specimens for COVID-19 testing for 914 patients resulting in 38 positive confirmations, 1 inconclusive, 847 negative results and 28 pending test results. Residents should contact their healthcare provider or the Health Department to see if they meet testing criteria for COVID-19 even if they are not symptomatic.
