Town of Emerald Isle recently issued the following announcement.

Merry Christmas! Town of Emerald Isle Holiday Schedule
Merry Christmas to everyone who lives in, owns property, visits regularly, or just loves Emerald Isle! We are all incredibly blessed to be able to enjoy this special place!
Town offices will be closed on Tuesday, December 24, Wednesday, December 25, and Thursday, December 26 in observance of Christmas.
The Community Center will be closing early at 5pm on Tuesday, December 24, closed Wednesday, December 25, and open on Thursday, December 26.
Trash / Recycling will NOT be collected on Tuesday, December 24 or Wednesday, December 25. The regular collection schedule will resume on Thursday, December 26.
Town offices and the Community Center will be closed on Wednesday, January 1 in observance of New Year's Day.
Recycling WILL be collected on Wednesday, January 1. Happy New Year!
Christmas Tree Curb-Side Collection
Please place old, natural Christmas trees at the curb-side for collection by Town staff after Christmas. Trees will be collected as part of the Town's weekly yard debris collection service from all neighborhoods.
Oceanfront residents are permitted to place old, natural Christmas trees in the dunes to promote sand accretion, and are welcome to collect their neighbors' old trees from the curb-side for placement in the dunes. Please be careful not to impede public access or vehicular access on the beach strand.
You may also participate with Surfrider Foundation's Bogue Banks Chapter in their dune restoration effort scheduled for Saturday, January 18. Drop off your Christmas Tree at the lot next to the Shrimp Stand anytime between December 25 to January 17 and their group will use the trees to help restore structure to our dunes at the Point this year.
All ornaments and tinsel must be removed whether placing curb-side or drop off.
Emerald Isle Bridge- Holiday Construction Schedule
N.C. Department of Transportation contract crews are working to extend the life of the Emerald Isle Bridge during the 2019/2020 off-season.
In anticipation of increased holiday traffic, construction work will be suspended between the dates of December 19, 2019, and January 2, 2020. During this time, both lanes of traffic on the bridge are expected to remain open. For real-time travel information, visit DriveNC.gov and follow NCDOT on social media (Twitter).
