Dru Autry, who serves as patient flow coordinator at Outer Banks Health, has been recognized as the Team Member of the Month for November 2025. Autry joined the organization in May 2018 and is described by her colleagues as an integral part of the Emergency Department’s night shift.

Her coworkers refer to her as the “glue” that keeps operations running during overnight hours. They highlight her strong work ethic, calm presence during stressful situations, and readiness to help wherever needed. According to her team, Autry’s compassion is evident in all interactions with patients and staff. She provides clear communication when answering call bells or assisting callers on the phone, which contributes to smooth department operations.

Autry is also credited with promoting patient safety by reminding others about hygiene practices and care standards. To further support patients, she became a notary and has volunteered time on her days off when additional expertise was required.

Her team notes that Autry’s positive attitude helps motivate others through encouragement and recognition of their efforts. She is known for picking up extra shifts, exceeding expectations in daily tasks such as stocking rooms and preparing supplies, and maintaining a respectful environment for both patients and coworkers.

In a group statement, her colleagues said: “Dru truly exemplifies the values of Outer Banks Health. She is a joy to work with and an asset to our team. The ED night shift is so lucky to have her.”
