On Tuesday, April 1, former West Carteret High School standout CW Bayer’s current college team, the UNC Pembroke Braves, won 1-0 in their NCAA Division II baseball game against the Coker Cobras.
The game took place at Sammy Cox Field. This was their second matchup against the Cobras this season.
The Braves’ next game is scheduled for Friday, April 4 at 3 p.m. at Sammy Cox Field against Belmont Abbey Crusaders.
Carteret County has scheduled a public hearing on its proposed fiscal year 2026–2027 budget. Residents can review copies starting May 11 and attend a hearing on May 18 to share their views.
