Jensen Highsmith has been named Outer Banks Health Team Member of the Month for January 2026. Highsmith, who joined Outer Banks Health in April 2022, is recognized for her leadership and commitment to supporting team members throughout the organization.
Highsmith’s approach emphasizes inclusion and support for colleagues, often working beyond regular hours to ensure that everyone feels valued and informed. According to a team member, “Jensen is the heartbeat of team member engagement at OBH.” Another colleague said, “She always has a smile on her face.”
Recently, Highsmith completed her Master of Healthcare Administration and uses this knowledge to improve onboarding processes and overall team engagement. She coordinates events such as Harvest for Health, Winter Lights, Healthcare Week, Giving Tree donations, and morale-boosting activities. One team member noted, “She never seeks recognition, but her impact is felt in every smile, every success and every moment of calm she brings to the hospital.”
