On Saturday, March 22, former West Carteret High School standout CW Bayer’s current college team, the UNC Pembroke Braves, won 19-8 in their NCAA Division II baseball game against the Chowan Hawks.
The game took place at Hawkins Field. This was their third matchup against the Hawks this season.
The Braves’ next game is scheduled for Friday, March 28 at 5 p.m. at Tommy Carey Field against Emmanuel Lions.
Carteret County has scheduled a public hearing on its proposed fiscal year 2026–2027 budget. Residents can review copies starting May 11 and attend a hearing on May 18 to share their views.
