On Friday, Feb. 21, former Currituck County High School standout Cole Bates’ current college team, the Lenoir-Rhyne Bears, won 9-2 in their NCAA Division II baseball game against the Wingate Bulldogs.

The game took place at Durham Field. This was their first matchup against the Bulldogs this season.

The Bears’ next game is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 22 at 1 p.m. at Durham Field against Wingate Bulldogs.
