County of Dare issued the following announcement on Jan. 16.

A Coastal Flood Advisory is in effect for Dare County from 7 p.m. today, January 14, 2023 through 10 a.m. January 16, 2023. 

Up to two feet of inundation above ground level is expected in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways. 

Some roads and low-lying property adjacent to the waterfront will experience shallow flooding. 

If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be closed.
