On Friday, May 16, former Currituck County High School standout Cole Bates’ current collegiate team the Lenoir-Rhyne Bears lost 13-7 against the Belmont Abbey Crusaders in the NCAA Division II Baseball Championship.

The game took place at Abbey Yard at 6:10 p.m. and was the first matchup against the Belmont Abbey Crusaders in the tournament.

The Lenoir-Rhyne Bears’ next game will take place on Saturday, May 17 at 7:30 p.m. at Abbey Yard.
