On Sunday, Feb. 16, former Currituck County High School standout Cannon Pickell’s current college team, the Western Carolina Catamounts, lost 11-5 in their NCAA Division I baseball game against the Georgia Southern Eagles.

The game took place at J. I. Clements Stadium. This was their third matchup against the Eagles this season.

The Catamounts’ next game is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 18 at 4 p.m. at Ronnie G. Childress Field at Hennon Stadium against USC Upstate Spartans.
